Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global community of young active citizens aged 18-40 dedicated to creating positive change. Through collective action, members engage in activities ranging from community development to international projects, demonstrating social responsibility, leadership, and personal growth.

Commitment to Improvement
JCI members strive to live by the slogan "Be Better." They believe in the possibility and responsibility of initiating positive change both in themselves and their communities, driven by a strong sense of social responsibility and action.

Global Reach and Impact
With over 5,000 local organizations in more than 100 countries, JCI forms a vibrant international community of nearly 200,000 active citizens. Members focus on finding solutions to improve their local communities while being part of a global grassroots movement creating significant impact through local action.

International Events
EJCI members gather annually at the JCI World Congress to share experiences and promote international cooperation. Additionally, JCI hosts four regional conferences in Africa and the Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, the Americas, and Europe, addressing global issues and fostering socially responsible leadership.

Historical Background
Founded in 1915 by Henry Giessenbier Jr. in St. Louis, USA, JCI began as the Young Men's Progressive Civic Association. By 1944, it had expanded internationally, leading to the formation of Junior Chamber International. This tradition of uniting active citizens continues to drive the JCI movement today.

International Cooperation
As an international NGO, JCI actively participates in the United Nations system, holding consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). JCI collaborates with various global organizations, including the UN Global Compact, UNESCO, and the International Chamber of Commerce, to further its mission of positive change.
